series of site-specific murals
developed for Fries Museum, Leeuwarden (NL)
Central to the work is the idea of home: what it means to live in a space, and what is needed to feel safe somewhere. The work focuses on the idea of the borders, the margins of a home: part of the feeling of safety comes from being enclosed by these borders. The walls of our homes keep out the unknown, and protect the safety within.
Enter responds to the secrets these margins of the space contain - the lingering ghosts of the pasts, possible concealed rooms and their unknown history - and blurs the boundaries between inside and outside, the everyday and the unfamiliar, home and non-home.
